Little Lion Man: 3
The sun was slipping below the soot-stained city skyline, and darkness was descending rapidly. Brendon pulled the collar of his jacket up and tilted his head down, hoping to hide the fear and uncertainty that was so plain upon his face.
How naive he was, that he thought these simple gestures could keep him safe. Really, they just made him more of a target.
"Hey, kid!"
Brendon flinched at the voice and quickened his pace. The footsteps of the other man followed, though, causing Brendon to silently panic a little more inside.
"Goddamnit, kid, slow down, you're about to enter Kings territory...they rape pretty boys like you an' eat 'em for brea

Seven months earlier.
Brendon pulled his backpack up on his shoulders, finding the weight strangely comforting to him. Perhaps it was because he carried all that he loved in that bag; pictures of happier times and memories of warmer yesterdays weighed down upon him, easing him away from the life he had known for...always.
The nineteen-year-old had left home, seeking a shelter from drunken slurs past midnight and fiery cuts from broken bottles, thrown haphazardly at him from his father's doorway. They had been partners in crime throughout their adolescence and even now, at twenty-four, they were still as close as could be. Yet that feeling of love is not uncommon, most people will say that they love their best friend. Somehow, for Brendon this affection didn't seem to cover all that he was feeling. To say that he loved Ryan just seemed inadequate. The more correct phrasing he believed would be that he was very much in love with his best friend, Ryan Ross. He had been since one of their con

Ryan's POV
School was starting again in a couple of days.
Everything had became so perfect.
However, Brendon was beginning to become impatient. He wanted me, that was obvious but I still wasn't sure. I mean, we did have fun together, the hours spent snuggling on the sofa watching films, the soft kisses he would plant on the side of my face, his excuse being that he "couldn't stop himself". But I didn't know if I could do it. I just didn't know if I was ready.
I watched as he lay on his bed, soft snores escaped from his lips. We had decided to move the snuggling upstairs and I feel asleep in his arms, although I had woken up, Brendon was
